Core Programme (GEOSERV-19-45)

The implementation of the Core Program targets the following strategic objectives:

• developing the I.G.R.’s strategic research activities in alignment with the needs of Romanian society and with national and European strategic guidelines;
• fulfilling the duties of the National Geological Survey assigned to the I.G.R. by Romanian Government Decisions no. 1070/2000 and 1399/2005;
• enhancing knowledge regarding the geological makeup of Romania’s territory to provide a scientific basis for decision-making at national or local levels;
• meeting international obligations undertaken by the I.G.R. within the framework of international projects and programs;
• increasing the I.G.R.’s capacity to participate in national and international research projects;
• boosting the scientific and public visibility of the I.G.R.;
• leveraging the analytical capabilities existing within the I.G.R.;
• facilitating the dissemination of research results;
• fostering knowledge transfer across generations by involving young researchers in studies alongside experienced researchers and by engaging them in the management of research activities.
