The I.G.R. library was organized on the first floor of the I.G.R. headquarters building (1 Caransebeș St., Sector 1, Bucharest).
The library’s books are arranged in 12 storage areas equipped with metal shelving spanning 4 linear kilometers.
The organizational structure is as follows:
- 1 repository for Romanian books
- 3 repositories for foreign serials
- 1 repository for Russian books
- 1 repository for foreign geological maps
- 2 repositories for duplicate foreign publications
- 1 repository for foreign books
- 1 reading room
- 1 repository containing 30 metal cabinets with duplicate Romanian books
- 1 repository currently being set up for chemistry literature.
- The level of computerization across the repositories ranges from 80% to 100%.
- The library is equipped with two desktop computers and two laptops.
- Analytical research activities in electronic format are currently underway.
The electronic geonomic database comprises over 142,000 titles.
