About the Geological Archive
The I.G.R. Geological Archive is located on the third floor of the I.G.R. headquarters building (1 Caransebeș St., Sector 1, Bucharest).
The archive’s documents are organized across three storage areas equipped with metal shelving, fire protection systems, and motion sensors.
The I.G.R. Geological Archive’s documents occupy 1.5 kilometers of shelving.
Organization:
- 1 repository for documents produced by I.G.R., Prospecţiuni S.A. (I.P.G.G.), and Foradex S.A. (I.F.L.G.S.).
- A repository for “official use only” (classified) documents originating from the archives of the former Ministry of Geology and equivalent entities from the 1950–1980 period.
- 1 repository for duplicate copies.
- A study room.
- The level of computerization across the repositories ranges from 50% to 100%.
- The archive is equipped with two computers.
- Analytical documentation work in electronic format is currently underway.
The I.G.R. Geological Archive database contains over 20,000 titles.
